CAGEPRISONERS
-----------------------
CagePrisoners believes that it is the UK which is the appropriate forum for any criminal charges against the men, as their alleged activities took place within its jurisdiction. If the men are sent to the US, there is real concern that they will face severe discrimination through the US federal and penal justice systems. In particular, we are concerned that they will face prolonged solitary confinement which is tantamount to cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment.
The coalition government has continually expressed its concern over the current extradition arrangement with the US, with individuals such as Gary McKinnon and Richard O'Dwyer also facing the real threat of being extradited. We demand that UK parliamentarians apply this concern to all those who face extradition without a prima facie case.
