Urgent Action Alert

Detainee Z was recently accused of tampering with his electronic tag and thus breaching the conditions of his bail order. He was arrested on 22nd June and taken to the High Security Prison, HMP Belmarsh, where he is held as a Category A prisoner while he awaits a SIAC (Special Immigration Appeals Commission) hearing on 28th July to challenge that accusation.

The conditions Detainee Z has been struggling under have been extremely difficult and prohibits his family from living a normal life. Without him, his wife and three children are distraught and completely isolated.  Detainee Z is a man dedicated to his family and it is impossible that he would have intentionally tampered with his tag.

We ask that you please write to the Home Secretary, Theresa May, and request that she not re-imprison Detainee Z. Please cut and paste the template letter below, add your name and email it to the email address provided. This will take you less than a minute but with enough response we hope to have Detainee Z return to his family before Ramadan.

RE: The arrest of Detainee Z

To Rt Hon Theresa May MP

I write to you to requesting your immediate action in the case of Detainee Z, a man who is facing deportation to Algeria.

After having successfully challenged his detention in prison and strictly adhered to bail conditions that were imposed on him, Detainee Z now faces imprisonment again on the allegation that he tampered with his electronic tag.

I request that you strongly consider that Detainee Z has been living for over 3 years on his bail conditions without having breached them. He is a man who is dedicated to his family and would not risk being without them by breaching the terms of his bail.

Life for the wife and children of Detainee Z is extremely difficult especially now that they have had the benefit of having him back in their lives.

I ask you to please not return him to prison, which will only serve to have a detrimental impact on him and his family.

Yours Sincerely,
